During my time at Neon Play I designed, prototyped and brought a large number of mobile games to market. Each game was rapidly prototyped in weeks with a few feedback rounds and assistance from art teams to help with the visuals and VFX.
Trailor for Red Cup Trick Shots. A satisfying game of skill. Aim the perfect shot, find just the right ricochet. Pull off incredible shots with very satisfying puzzles. I improved game feel and fairness by adding in an aim assist feature. By checking the collisions normal I could determine if a projectile was coming from the right direction then correct the shots direction after a bounce so the gameplay felt intuitive and satisfying.
Race to freedom in this simulated multiplayer game. Built in Unity and deployed to Android and IOS app stores. Navigate through a course of dangerous obstacles designed to slow you down and keep you incarcerated. Levels are randomly generated from random tile sets and ragdoll physics are used to create the wacky gameplay. Rapidly prototyped in just a couple of weeks.
Brick Blast was an angry birds inspired game. For this project we found a really cool tool that would convert FBX models into Lego figures with individual pieces. We ran with that to create a fun little game where you can destroy your opponents models with projectiles and explosions. Optimization was a challenge for this project as some of the models had 100's of pieces. We opted to welding chucks of the models together and adjusting the physics settings in Unity to balance the desired outcome with performance.
